HIDEOUT - MAY 19
Well, at least a lot of the regulars were familiar. New bartenders (Sean/Shawn (?) & Stu and we said goodbye to Steve who is now in Vegas. We were wondering where everyone was and remembered the new smoking regulations. A good chunk of the crowd was outside in the patio area.
It was kind of cool, we’d start a song and then dancers would stream in from outside. We thought people were leaving only to see them reappear after a few minutes. Khang is always in the traffic pattern there - I think one of our female (at least I hope female) fans even gave him a friendly pinch while walking by. We even got stiffed by a drunk - maybe that’s too harsh? Nah, the bum offered us $20 bucks to play one more song after we were breaking down - we played it, people danced, he waltzed out the door while we were wrapping cords.
Many thanks to the lovely Janine, Sharon & Tom, Betty & Tripp, Joe (from the church band!) Nadine & Dan, Michele and everyone that came out to catch us. We debuted Mony, Mony and Good Lovin’ (okay, coming out of the pause needs some work) and we have 5 more songs in development during our break.
Next gig is at Rancho Resorts in Sahuarita on June 15, then back at the Hideout on June 16. Thanks to everyone who sent in a ballot for us - maybe we’ll get that TAMMIE this year.
