Who says the nights are slow during the hot summer days in Green Valley?  We returned to the Legion (Post 66) on Friday saw some familiar faces and met some new friends.  Watch out for Maureen in the picture above (black top) - she apparently has the power to make men swoon after they dance with her.  For the first time I can recall, we had an audience for the first couple of songs - that is, the folks were just listening.  Luckily, it wasn’t long  before the dancers got things going and kept it that way all night long.  As promised, we had a few new songs that we learned during our break and they were well received.  Bob & Angelina stayed busy at the bar, our friend John Denbo did some dancing despite doctor’s orders and we had to crank up the AC a couple of times.  So good to be back.

It was just as good a few miles south on Saturday at the Elks as we stomped on a nasty rumor, set it on fire, then stomped it out again.  I sure hope no one else has wondered about the rumor of the band breaking up.  Barring a freak fishing accident, we plan on seeing you until at least New Year’s Eve of 2008.  (I have tentatively booked New Year’s Eve 2009 if you can believe that!)  As long as you good people keep dancing, showing your appreciation & buying our shirts, we will continue having fun with you.

Well, lovely Lori was miffed since I didn’t put Celebrate on the set list (honest, Lori, you should have let me know earlier) but I think she enjoyed the rest of the evening.  I promise for your next trip.  We were lucky enough to have a Runaround Sue visiting (but I hope you know we are just referring to your traveling ways, not your social life).  I hope we helped you in deciding whether you should move here.  Bill, Carol, Nancy, Eileen, so many more . . . it was great to see you dancing and having fun again.  We even got to throw in a “Funky Music” for our past pooh-bah Tom.  See you again on the 21st!  (27th for the Legion.)
