Well, I didn’t get a chance to take any performance pictures this weekend (but I do expect some from Mary’s party on Friday any day now), so I’ve included this photo I took of the guys doing a sound check before the Arizona Children’s Home Fundraiser.Â
But first, Friday & Mary Murray’s 60th birthday party (and I have to say, a very hot 60). It was very cyclical – playing a patio party under the stars, looking out on the lights of Green Valley – I do believe this was the location of our 1st or 2nd paid gig 5 (6?) years ago. I’m glad we had a much greater variety of music for our enthusiastic guests. I’m also glad all the neighbors were invited because we kept the music thumping for 3 hours and never once did the police show up. Hopefully, we’ll share some shots from the party later on, so keep checking back. We were well fed and everyone was happy at the end of the evening – thanks for including us!
Saturday Night: Starr Pass has built a nice convention/banquet center and I believe we were one of three events going on that night. They did need traffic control. This was a very nice & worthy event – attendance was around 400 and I hope they raised a ton for the kids.  A little bit different type of night for us – we were set up by 6:30 and then waited until 8:45 to perform. I’ve been to enough of these functions to know quite a few people leave when the speeches are over, but I was a bit worried at the mass rush for the door when we were announced – I thought the room was going to tilt. In spite of the vacuum, we had a nice & crowded dance floor after the crowd figured us out. We were blessed with some dancing die-hards who stayed until the last table was cleared. I took a peek at the Tucson Hispanic Chamber function and they were about the same – 3 or 4 tables that stayed to have fun. We were quite gratified to be part of the “Celebration”.Â
