TUCSON ESTATES DANCE CLUB 12-8-07

We debuted Saturday night @ Tucson Estates (where I insure a number of homes).  I hope we didn’t scare the folks who wanted 40’s music and waltzes too much.  A very friendly crowd that wasn’t afraid to dance - I’m proud of how they were rocking at the end - I think I bent my cowbell during “Old Time Rock ‘n Roll”.  Thanks to Elaine & Jim for asking us to participate, we look forward to returning in February.

MID LIFE HEADLINES @ CASINO!

band-dd.JPG

You read that right, Mid Life Crisis was the headline act at the Desert Diamond Casino Entertainment Center last night.  We performed on the very stage that played host to Al Green, Cool & the Gang, & Kenny G!  I apologize for the quality of the picture, but crowd control would not let Peggy Fleener get any closer.  Even though we finished at 9, the dozens (okay, maybe one dozen) of Baja members that remained still demanded an encore.  Bob was back and I think he was infectious - I felt kind of fuzzy-headed at times last night.  Maybe it was the bright lights of the big stage.  Lovely Luz and the other members of the DD team bustled and boogied with us all night long.  It was very cool - we have now played on both big stages at both casinos, thanks to Peggy and the Baja club for letting us join them.  My apologies to the member who wanted some Glenn Miller, we try to be versatile, but we just can’t pull off big band.  Well, we did do YMCA by request, does that make up for it?  Merry Christmas Baja!

ELKS - DECEMBER 1, 2007

elks1207.JPG

We always want to acknowledge the rowdy tables at our gigs and this good-looking bunch filled the bill.  I found out that the paper listed a different band on the bill so I hope we didn’t scare too many people who were expecting waltzes or “the Music of Your Life”.  Heck, we play the music of your life and I know Mayme gets a good variety of acts playing here.  We still had a pretty good bunch show up they knocked out the line dances.  We thank you for your kind words as we made it through the night without Bob Diedrich.  We’ll be back at full strength with a full repertoire when you see everyone again on New Year’s Eve.
