hpim1868.JPGhpim1869.JPGhpim1870.JPGhpim1871.JPGhpim1872.JPGhpim1873.JPGhpim1874.JPGhpim1875.JPGhpim1876.JPGhpim1877.jpghpim1878.jpgThis was the perfect tonic to help us recover from last week’s gig.  The only thing that went badly was that some folks had to leave because there was no place to sit at 7 pm!  So many of our regular friends were there and the “Popcorn Babes” (is that a bit better?) helped spice things up for us.  Gloria, I am so sorry I didn’t get the chance to talk more, but there is a great picture of you and Robert this time (always take care of your customers!).  It only took a few years but we got a waltz in the mix for you - Steve loved it so much he just kept on singing long after we were done.  Thank you all so much, there are the kind of nights that make all this worthwhile.  We always have fun here, the only question we have is what color Kathleen’s hair will be next time.  See you on the 21st of February!

GV ELKS - NEW YEAR’S EVE!

hpim1835.JPGhpim1836.JPGhpim1837.JPGhpim1838.JPGhpim1839.JPGhpim1840.JPGhpim1841.JPGhpim1842.JPGhpim1843.JPGhpim1844.JPGWow, what a night!  We were a bit worried about being booked until 1:00 a.m., but we had a full dance floor for last call.  Now earlier in the evening, that was another story.  There was another group playing in the big hall and the crowds shifted back and forth.  There were a couple of times when people couldn’t make it to the bar or back to their tables until the songs ended.  The ladies sparkled & looked great, even the guys looked decent - my eyes didn’t water once.  Sue made a surprise appearance, Betty looked ravishing.  This is always a great way to break me out of the blues.  Wow, I just realized it will be our last New Year’s gig here, it was a great sendoff.

hpim1823.JPGhpim1822.JPGhpim1824.JPGhpim1825.JPGhpim1826.JPGhpim1827.JPGhpim1828.JPGhpim1829.JPGhpim1830.JPGhpim1831.JPGhpim1832.JPGhpim1833.JPGhpim1834.JPGJim and Mayno Wolfe (of Two’s Company fame) asked us to play for their “early” New Year’s Eve Celebration and we were happy to take part.  As you can tell from the first two shots, you can get a line dance going anywhere.  Khang was visiting family in San Diego and Gene Collins filled in on bass.  Looking back, we should have asked Gene to do some magic tricks during the breaks - I know I was impressed.  It was our first time playing here, a very nice setup and you can’t beat the price on beers.  Thanks for asking us to join you.
