ej2.JPGej3.JPGej4.JPGej5.JPGej6.JPGej7.JPGej8.JPGej9.JPGej10.JPGej11.JPGej12.JPGej13.JPGej14.JPGej15.JPGej16.JPGej17.JPGej18.JPGej19.JPGej20.JPGej21.JPGej22.JPGej23.JPGej24.JPGej26.JPGej27.JPGej28.JPGej29.JPG  We were blessed with great crowd Saturday night - you would never have guessed it was the “off-season” in Green Valley.  Cher & Lola were there along with Jo, Mary & EJ;  Gloria was dancing again along with Joyce, Suzette, Dale, Betty, John & Liz & even Joanne & Cathy made a rare appearance west of Swan Road - wow, I know I’m leaving a ton of friends off the list, but it’s a great problem to have.  I have to commend Mary who was filling in for our normal (well, let’s say “regular”) photographer.  A lot of great shots of the enthusiastic crowd that stayed the whole night.  I know we owe some people some songs we couldnt’ get to, next time, okay? Thank you so much for one of best nights to date!

000_0009.jpg000_00101.jpg000_0011.jpg000_00121.jpg000_0013.jpg000_00141.jpg000_00151.jpg000_00161.jpg000_0020.jpg  As Bob succinctly put it, “Thank God for the Popcorn Girls!”  It would have been a very empty dance floor without them, PLUS, we were able to get a fan provided for the hot box.  I realize it was a summer crowd and we did have some other tables with dancers, but we are beholden to you ladies!  Thank you Joyce & Dick for signing in our friends.  We trotted out a couple of new songs, “The Thrill is Gone” went over fairly well, but I’m a bit disappointed no one knew the sing-a-long line for “Margaritaville”.  We played Angelina’s favorite song in the first set in the hopes she will let us back in the door on August 7th.

The Parking Lot

I was updating the music and started recalling songs that have fallen by the wayside over the years.  Some are gone because former members  (John Ankiewicz & Don Warren) are no longer around to sing them.  Most are gone because they didn’t fit our primary criteria - if people don’t dance, we drop the song.  As you may know, when people just sit, we get nervous.
